Getting Through The Mental Attack
Psalm 42:1-11 (NKJV)
1 As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my food day and night,
While they (remember they. Who is they?) continually say to me,
“Where is your God?”
4 When I remember these things,
I pour out my soul within me.
For I used to go with the multitude;
I went with them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise,
With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me;
Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan,
And from the heights of Hermon,
From the Hill Mizar.
7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
8 The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me—
A prayer to the God of my life.
9 I will say to God my Rock,
“Why have You forgotten me?
Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”
10 As with a breaking of my bones,
My enemies reproach me,
While they say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
11 Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.
4 things you can do when you are under a mental attack……….to find your water in God
#1 Realize That You Are In A Battle
Jude 1:9 (NKJV)
9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
#2 Stop Listening to Yourself………(Your Soul/Mind)
Psalm 42:4 (NKJV)
4 When I remember these things,
I pour out my soul within me. (I talk to myself) Then we can hear him pour out his soul……….

I went with them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise,
With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.
#3 Start Preaching To Yourself
Psalm 42:5 (NKJV)
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? (He is talking to his own mind and cast down means pushed down, depressed)
And why are you disquieted within me? (Disquieted simply means not quiet. He is saying his own mind will not be quiet)
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance.
Psalm 131:2 (NKJV)
2 Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul,
Like a weaned child with his mother;
Like a weaned child is my soul within me.
Ephesians 2:1-5 (NKJV)
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
