Understanding Temptation Better (Pleasure)

1 Corinthians 10:13

The 3 P’s of Temptation
#1 Pleasure
#2 Popularity
#3 Pride

Matthew 4:1-4
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

#1 Be Spirit Led

Tempt: to entice or attempt to entice (someone) to do or acquire something that they find attractive but know to be wrong or not beneficial.
A synonym of the word Tempt is to Test

James 1:12-15
12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

#2 Trust The Father’s Provision

Genesis 3:6
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food (Pleasure), that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

Matthew 16:24-26
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him DENY himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it (give it up), but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (You always gain more than you Give)26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
