What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible is divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit, the infallible revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

(Romans 15:4, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

God

We believe that there is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

(1 John 5:7, Matthew 28:19, Hebrews 13:8)

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, sacrificial death to save us from our sins, and His resurrection and ascension to heaven.

(Matthew 1:22, 23, John 1:1-2, 14, 3:16, Acts 1:2-3, 9, 2:22)

Mankind & The Fall
We believe that humans, both male and female, were created in God’s image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God’s creations.  When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became separated from God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.
(Genesis 1:27, Romans 5:12-19, Ephesians 2:3)
Salvation

We believe that Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

(Romans 3:23, 6:23, 10:13, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:4-7)

Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is promised to all believers subsequent to salvation as the entrance into a Spirit-filled life including: speaking in tongues, gifts of the Holy Spirit, and power to be a witness and anointed servant of God.

(Joel 2:28-29, Luke 3:16, Acts 1:4-5, 8, 2:4, 38-39, 10:44 -47, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

Healing

We believe the finished work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body.  Prayer is the pathway to healing through the anointing with oil and laying hands on the sick in the name of Jesus. Healing also means living healthy in every area of life.

(1 Peter 2:24, Exodus 15:26, James 5:13-15, 1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Spiritual Growth

We believe we are to grow in grace and knowledge of Christ. Spiritual growth is also called sanctification (holiness).  By the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, the believer is enabled to live a holy life.  Sanctification is the process of being separated from sin and dedicated to God, which begins at salvation and continues throughout the lifetime of the believer. (Galatians 5:22-23, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, 5:23, 2 Peter 3:18)

Second Coming

We believe in the personal, imminent return of Jesus Christ.

(Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, Titus 2:13)

Rapture

We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved to everlasting resurrection life and they that are lost to everlasting damnation.

(Acts 24:15, 1 Corinthians 15:20-23, Revelation 20:4-6, 12-15)

Heaven

Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

(Matthew 5:3,12, 20, 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; John 17:24, II Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews11:16; I Peter 1:4)

Hell

We believe that after living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the Fallen Angels.

(Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8)

Marriage

We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God.

(Matthew 19:4-6, I Corinthians 6:9-11)

The Church

We believe that The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission.  Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers.  There is spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23)

Sacraments

We believe that baptism by immersion in water is an outward sign of an inward work . We believe in taking communion as a way of remembering that Jesus Christ’s body was broken for our healing and His shed blood is an atonement for our sins.

(Matthew 26:26-30; 28:19, Romans 6:4, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, 1 Peter 3:20-22)
