Roots Bear Fruit
We are beginning a new series today that we will be on for the next few weeks called Roots Bear Fruits.
When I say I desire to bear Good Fruit in my life, I am talking about the outward occurrences or manifestations that people see in my life, that either leave a good or bad taste with them. I am talking about how I handle myself and how I respond to things, despite my circumstances, that impacts people and atmospheres around me
We have to know, that any Good Fruit is only there because of the Root. And iany bad fruit is there, because of a root………so the Root, bears the Fruit
Everything has a root cause, whether it is success or failure, there is a root cause to both
Where is the Root?? Or what is the Root??
Jesus Is The Root, He Is The Vine
John 15: 8
By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
Matthew 7: 17-18
17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
Matthew 12: 33
Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.
John 15: 5
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Isaiah 11: 1
There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. (I am the Vine you are the branches)
Isaiah 11: 10
And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, and His resting place shall be glorious.
Isaiah 53:2
For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground.
Revelation 5:5
But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”
Revelation 22: 16-17
16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
Philippians 4:13
I can do ALL THINGS through Christ Who strengthens me……..
⁃Please grab ahold of these 2 Truths this morning: With Him ALL Things/ Without Him No Thing…….
⁃So you have to know, Jesus is the Root
We Are The Branches
John 15: 4
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Galatians 5: 22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
We bear or carry Fruit for 2 reasons
1) is to Display God to the world
2) Is so that people can taste and see that the Lord is Good!!
The Father is the Vine Dresser
John 15: 1 says:
I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
Isaiah 5: 1-7
1 I will sing for the one I love a song about his vineyard: My loved one had a vineyard on a fertile hillside. 2 He dug it up and cleared it of stones and planted it with the choicest vines. He built a watchtower in it and cut out a winepress as well. Then he looked for a crop of good grapes, but it yielded only bad fruit. 3 “Now you dwellers in Jerusalem and people of Judah, judge between me and my vineyard. 4 What more could have been done for my vineyard than I have done for it? When I looked for good grapes, why did it yield only bad? 5 Now I will tell you what I am going to do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it will be destroyed; I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled. 6 I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated, and briers and thorns will grow there. I will command the clouds not to rain on it.” 7 The vineyard of the Lord Almighty is the nation of Israel, and the people of Judah are the vines he delighted in. And he looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard cries of distress.
Matthew 21: 33-37
33 “Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. (Does that sound familiar??) And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. (So Isaiah started this story, Jesus is finishing it here and helping us to understand it)34 Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit. 35 And the vinedressers took his servants (which are God’s prophets whom He sent), beat one, killed one, and stoned another. 36 Again he sent other servants(more prophets), more than the first, and they did likewise to them. 37 Then last of all he sent his Son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my Son.’
Luke 20: 13
Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Probably(Hopefully) they will respect him when they see him.’
Mark 12: 6
Therefore still having one son, his beloved, he also sent him to them last, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
Matthew 21: 38-40
38 But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’ 39 So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”
Matthew 21: 41-43
41 They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.” 42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? 43 “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.”
